We went to Animal for brunch at around 12pm during the hottest hour. So we hung out there and hid from the sun for a very good while. Really really enjoyed our coffee and food though! We even shared some pretty brilliant ideas.

We shared an appetizer: chicken liver toast. Nom nom nom…
My dad got the pastrami reuben benedict on rye toast with sauerkraut, hollandaise and island sauce, with a soft egg and I got the foie gras, biscuit with maple sausage gravy. As much as I love savory sweet, I think the gravy is a bit too sweet for me but the foie gras is cooked to perfection. After our relaxing brunch, we headed to Abbot Kinney. Yup not a good idea because it was still very hot and sunny, but I did pile on layers of sunblock! And we had a great time walking around leisurely. (I hid from one shade to another)

IDV is such a cute store. I would move in if I could! I mean… You can tell I’m obsessed. I didn’t even mind that it’s an outdoor store without AC.
And look at this awesome mural. LOVE!
